WHAT IS IT?
What is Electroluminescent (EL) Lighting?
Electroluminescence is the conversion of electrical energy into light energy by the activation of a dielectric (non-conductive substance) phosphor, with an alternating current.
Electroluminescence happens when you plug in a sandwich made of plastic, conductive material and phosphor. Basically, there are two electrode layers in the sandwich and a layer of phosphor in between them. It's the phosphor that makes the light when it glows as the electricity goes through it as it passes from one electrode layer to the other.
We use EL technology to add illumination and animation to printed graphics. EL competes directly with neon and fluorescent backlit, but surpasses both in performance, ease of use, flexibility of application and the simple "wow factor". EL can do what neon and fluorescent cannot. If you would like to get more information please filll out the form below.
